Shield
Buff and light blue are the colors traditionally used by the Quartermaster units. The lightning flash represents speed and power, delivered by the unit. Black signifies the petroleum (fuel), supplied by the battalion. The key symbolizes the battalion's mission of command, control and operational services, to assigned and/or attached Petroleum supply companies. The sword denotes the battalion's military readiness and strength.
Crest
The crest is that of the California Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 746th Quartermaster Battalion on 30 December 2003. It was redesignated effective 1 September 2007, for the 746th Support Battalion.
